PUTRAJAYA, July 24 (Bernama) -- The National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN) has trained a total of 2,661 women through the MamaCare Postnatal Care Programme, with 1,482 of them qualifying for the Malaysian Skills Diploma Level 4 (DKM4).
The Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM) said the announcement was made by its Minister, Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, during the 4th MamaCare Convocation Ceremony held today.
According to a statement issued today, KPWKM said Nancy explained that the MamaCare Postnatal Care Programme is recognised under the National Occupational Skills Standard (NOSS) and was developed by LPPKN in collaboration with the Traditional and Complementary Medicine (TCM) Division and the Department of Skills Development (JPK).
“The programme has benefitted nearly 60,000 women who have received services from MamaCare practitioners,” the statement said.
MamaCare is a women’s wellness capacity-building programme aimed at uplifting traditional postnatal care practices.
The professional skills acquired through this programme not only generate significant financial returns for MamaCare practitioners but also improve the quality of services, thereby boosting public trust and confidence in the postnatal care industry.
KPWKM stated that LPPKN’s effort to offer structured and accredited MamaCare training is part of the Ministry’s and the MADANI Government’s commitment to addressing skilled labour shortages while ensuring continued relevance and contribution to the well-being of Malaysians.
LPPKN has established five Practical Assessment Centres for postnatal care training, located at the LPPKN Family Centre in Penang, Klinik Nur Sejahtera Dungun, LPPKN Family Centre Seremban, Klinik Nur Sejahtera Kempas and LPPKN Headquarters.
