LABUAN, July 26 (Bernama) -- The Tunku Temenggong of Johor, Tunku Idris Iskandar, made a special appearance today aboard the renowned floating book fair vessel ‘MV Doulos Hope’, currently docked at Labuan Liberty Wharf.

The aim was to explore the ship’s mission of promoting literacy, cross‑cultural exchange and community outreach among local visitors.

During the visit, Tunku Idris also received a special souvenir from Doulos Hope director, Nidhin Sebastian, accompanied by Captain Graham Wilburn.

The gesture symbolised the appreciation of the Doulos Hope crew for the royal visit and support.

The Doulos Hope has drawn significant public attention in Labuan, welcoming nearly 25,000 visitors since its arrival in early July.

The event has been widely praised for boosting cultural and economic activity on the island.

Following the visit, Tunku Idris Iskandar also visited KD Kedah, the lead ship of the Kedah-class offshore patrol vessel of the Royal Malaysian Navy and engaged with its crew members.
