KUALA LUMPUR, July 26 (Bernama) -- Gatherings to celebrate democracy should be accompanied by a sense of responsibility towards cleanliness, said Housing and Local Government (KPKT) Minister Nga Kor Ming.
In a post on X today, Nga, who oversees the Solid Waste Management and Public Cleansing Corporation (SWCorp), expressed disappointment with some individuals who littered during rallies.
“Under the MADANI government, we support peaceful assemblies, but we urge participants to maintain cleanliness,” he said, adding that SWCorp is working tirelessly to clean up the waste left behind.
Nga also emphasised that littering could tarnish the country’s image.
