06/08/2025 07:02 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 6 (Bernama) -- The agenda of modernising military strategic assets was among the issues discussed in a meeting between Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Air Force chief General Datuk Seri Muhamad Norazlan Aris at Perdana Putra today.

The Prime Minister, who received a courtesy call from Muhamad Norazlan, also discussed the level of readiness of the country's air defence, including the need to strengthen technological capabilities in the increasingly challenging and sophisticated defence system.

"The MADANI government will continue to pay attention and support efforts to strengthen security and defend the sovereignty of our beloved country," said Anwar in a Facebook post today.

The Prime Minister said in the meeting he hoped the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) would remain a respected force at the regional level throughout Muhamad Norazlan's leadership as Air Force chief.

Muhamad Norazlan Aris was appointed as the 21st Air Force chief, replacing Gen Tan Sri Mohd Asghar Khan Goriman Khan who retired on June 26.
