KOTA BHARU, Aug 7 (Bernama) -- Making its services more accessible and convenient, the National Registration Department (NRD) has brought its ‘Bas Mekar’ mobile unit to the Kelantan MADANI Rakyat Programme (PMR) 2025 at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium here.
Among the services offered are identity card applications for children aged 12, replacement of damaged or lost identity cards, change of address, printing of MyKad chip information, and extraction of marriage registration details.
According to a Kelantan NRD spokesperson, other services provided include the registration and extraction of birth and death certificates, as well as MyKid applications.
He said the mobile service was available from 9 am to 6 pm, with each application taking about 30 minutes to complete.
“This identity card application is open to all Malaysian citizens applying for the first time, especially children aged 12,” he told Bernama at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium here today.
Meanwhile, Mohd Shahir Khassin, 38, from Pengkalan Chepa, said he took the opportunity to renew his identity card after experiencing a chip malfunction during a recent transaction.
“With the NRD Bas Mekar, things are much easier and time-saving. I only had to wait about 30 minutes to complete the process, compared to dealing directly at the NRD office,” he said.
Another visitor, Noraini Mat Isa, 35, from Tumpat, shared a positive experience after successfully registering the birth of her three-week-old baby.
“I’m very grateful I didn’t have to go all the way to the NRD office, which is quite far from my home. Everything was done quickly and the staff were very helpful. This kind of service is really convenient for people in rural areas like me,” she said.
The Kelantan PMR 2025 kicked off today, offering more than 100 direct services to the public, along with technology exhibitions and employment opportunities for the local community.
Held over three days at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium grounds, the event is spearheaded by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), in collaboration with the Implementation Coordination Unit of the Prime Minister’s Department (ICU JPM), and supported by various ministries and government agencies.
