IPOH, Aug 9 (Bernama) -- The Nadi Aspirasi Nasional Bersama Anak Muda (NANBA), an initiative by the Community Communications Department (JKOM), is a platform to communicate government policies and programmes directly to target groups, through an inclusive, accessible, and people-centric approach.
JKOM deputy director-general (Community Communications) Suwadi Guliling said that NANBA is not merely a platform for delivering information, but also a space to hear the people’s voices and foster two-way understanding between the government and the community.
“Today’s focus is on the Indian community, particularly the youth, who are a valuable asset to the nation.
“This reflects Malaysia’s reality as a nation enriched by racial and cultural diversity, comprising Malays, Chinese, Indians, Ibans, Kadazans and others, living harmoniously under one roof,” he said.
He said this at the NANBA Series 3/2025 programme, officiated by Buntong assemblywoman M. Thulsi Thivani at the Dewan Serbaguna Sri Desa Rishah Buntong, here, today.
Suwadi added that the NANBA initiative carries the message that every community is valued, and that diversity is a strength, to be celebrated in the spirit of Malaysia MADANI.
He said that, in this spirit, NANBA’s role goes beyond conveying information - it also aims to build trust, explain policies in a clear and accessible manner, and broaden access to inclusive, people-friendly government services.
Meanwhile, Thulsi, in her speech, described the NANBA programme as a highly meaningful initiative, particularly for the community in Buntong.
“NANBA, as we know, means ‘friend’ in Tamil - and it is more than just a name.
“It symbolises a spirit of friendship, with companions coming together to empower the community through communication,” she said.
