KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 12 (Bernama) -- The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) is conducting a survey to strengthen the implementation of the MADANI Rahmah Sales programme (PJRM) nationwide, which began on Aug 1.
Its minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said the survey aims to gather public feedback as part of efforts to improve the PJRM initiative, which has been implemented since January 2023.
He said the first phase of the survey, which started on Aug 1 and runs until this Friday, focuses on feedback from visitors at PJRM event locations.
“After that, we will open access to this survey for all Malaysians through a link on KPDN’s website and all its social media accounts so they can share their views,” he said during Minister’s Question Time in the Dewan Rakyat today.
Armizan was responding to a supplementary question from Wong Shu Qi (PH-Kluang) on the ministry’s mechanism for obtaining public feedback on PJRM.
Responding to Wong’s main question on the ministry’s strategy to ensure that the RM600 million allocation increase for PJRM truly benefits the target group, Armizan said the frequency of PJRM events will be increased in all parliamentary and state constituencies.
“The frequency will be raised from the initial target of 15,360 PJRM series to 20,000 annually until December this year,” he said.
Meanwhile, Armizan said the ministry will not open dedicated shops or premises to implement PJRM.
“The current implementation of PJRM is based on leveraging existing retailers,” he said in response to a supplementary question from Ahmad Tarmizi Sulaiman (PN-Sik) on whether KPDN is prepared to review the mechanism for selecting wholesale, distribution and retail panels involved in PJRM.
