KUANTAN, Aug 13 (Bernama) -- Participants of the Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang (KMJG) 2025 convoy were treated to a special tea break featuring the aromatic sambal ikan bilis with bunga kantan, served with boiled cassava, during their pit stop at Kampung Orang Asli Kuala Boh, Cameron Highlands.
Pahang Information Department Director Rohani Chik said the participants savoured the traditional Orang Asli dishes before the Jalur Gemilang was handed out to the local community.
“This programme not only instils the spirit of independence but also strengthens bonds and introduces convoy participants to the culture and heritage of Orang Asli cuisine,” she said when contacted by Bernama today.
According to Rohani, the state-level KMJG convoy today covered 193.6 kilometres across three districts, namely Jerantut, Lipis and Cameron Highlands, during which the Jalur Gemilang was distributed to civil servants, private sector employees and members of the public.
“The Pahang-level KMJG 2025 programme will conclude tomorrow at its final location with students of Kolej Vokasional Tengku Ampuan Afzan, Bentong,” she said.
The convoy features 25 high-powered motorcycles from the Daz Bikers Motorcycle Club, 13 vehicles from federal and state government agencies and involves more than 100 participants.
