PUTRAJAYA, Aug 14 (Bernama) -- Chief of Defence Force Gen Tan Sri Mohd Nizam Jaffar has become the first individual to be inducted into the Hall of Fame at the National Resilience College.

He said the recognition was the pinnacle of his military career.

“I was part of the first cohort in 2020. In any journey, especially in the military, this is one of the highest peaks of my career, and I am deeply grateful to Allah,” he said after the induction ceremony here today.

Mohd Nizam is an alumnus and pioneer participant of the National Resilience College course in 2020, in addition to being a recipient of the institution’s award.

That same year, he returned to serve as the second Commandant of the National Resilience College.

Mohd Nizam made significant contributions through various strategic initiatives during the COVID-19 pandemic, including the development of the Joint Common Operating Picture (JCOP) and the implementation of post-Movement Control Order management simulations.

Under his leadership, the National Resilience College expanded from Cohort 1 to Cohort 6, with participation now reaching a global level involving senior government officials from abroad and state civil service members.

The Malaysian Armed Forces, in a statement, said Mohd Nizam’s induction into the Hall of Fame was not only a personal honour but also a recognition of the strategic leadership, mental resilience, and far-sighted vision of a Chief of Defence Force who had navigated global challenges.

“With the motto “Duty, Honour, Sacrifice,” he stands as an inspiration and proves that the Malaysian Armed Forces can leave a legacy that transforms the nation’s defence landscape,” it said.
