PM Anwar To Deliver Key Address At MAPPA XX Tomorrow

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 14 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to deliver a significant address to Malaysia’s civil servants during the 20th edition of Majlis Amanat Perdana Perkhidmatan Awam (MAPPA XX) gathering at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), tomorrow.

According to Dr Saharah Sapiyi, Head of the Centre for Communication and Language Studies at the National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN), the Prime Minister will deliver the address at 3.30 pm, marking the highlight of the annual event.

“MAPPA XX serves as a key platform for the Prime Minister to engage directly with civil servants and communicate his aspirations for the nation. Typically, this is where major announcements related to the civil service are made.

“Last year, the Prime Minister unveiled the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA), and this year, we’ve been informed that new announcements will be made, including the launch of the Public Service Talent Development Policy which will serve as as guide for heads of departments and agencies in developing talents in their respective organisations,” she said in video call during Bernama TV’s Malaysia Petang Ini programme.

Saharah said this year’s MAPPA is being held under the theme Perkhidmatan Awam MADANI Teras Kecemerlangan (MADANI Civil Service: Pillar of Excellence), highlighting not just leadership aspirations, but also a reflection on core Malaysia MADANI values, which guide current governance reforms.

“The event also emphasises the civil service reform agenda led by the Chief Secretary to the Government, alongside values-driven service excellence promoted by the Director-General of Public Service,” she explained.

According to Saharah, before the main address tomorrow, civil servants attending MAPPA XX are invited to join Tazkirah Jumaat (religious reflection session) starting at 12.45 pm, followed by Friday prayers at Dewan Putra, PICC, which can accommodate up to 1,000 congregants.

Also lined up in conjunction with MAPPA XX is the Cakna Inspirasi Forum at 2.30 pm, focusing on social media and the spirit of independence, 43 exhibition booths featuring ministries, government agencies, and departments from 9 am to 5 pm, including counters for traffic summons payment and discount, as well as admission offers from higher education institutions.
