Parliament Enlivens HKHM 2025 Celebration

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 19 (Bernama) -- The National Day and Malaysia Day (HKHM) celebrations this year continued to be enlivened with the launch of the Malaysian Parliament’s 2025 National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang Celebration, held here today.

The symbolic event, held at the Dewan Rakyat lobby, was officiated by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and attended by Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul as well as Dewan Negara President Datuk Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah.

Also present were both Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speakers, Datuk Ramli Mohd Nor and Alice Lau, along with the Chief Administrator of the Malaysian Parliament, Datuk Ahmad Husaini Abdul Rahman.

The Prime Minister’s wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, who is also Bandar Tun Razak MP, attended to show her support for the event.

The event, which began at about 9.30 am, opened with the national anthem, Negaraku, followed by the recitation of the Rukun Negara pledge, before concluding with a medley of patriotic songs, including “Malaysia MADANI Rakyat Disantuni”, sung in unison by the audience while waving the Jalur Gemilang to kindle the spirit of patriotism.

Also in attendance were Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek, National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang and several deputy ministers.
