MACC Working With UPSI, UUM To Develop Anti-corruption Learning For Preschool

PUTRAJAYA, Aug 21 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is developing anti-corruption learning elements for preschool students, said its Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki.

He said the initiative, created in collaboration with Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) dan Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), will use mediums that are easy for young children to understand, such as comics and digital content.

“I have discussed with UPSI and UUM, and we have agreed to submit the proposal to the Ministry of Education (MOE) in a simplified form suitable for preschoolers.

“The aim is to instil from an early age the understanding that corruption is a bad thing,” he said during a special media session here today.

Meanwhile, Azam said the MACC  welcomes collaboration with local filmmakers to produce movies highlighting the commission’s efforts and successes in fighting corruption.

He revealed that three production companies have already expressed interest.

“In discussions, I have suggested several interesting success cases that could be adapted into films. The storyline must be clear and carry a strong anti-corruption message for the audience.

“However, I also want the lead actors—male and female—to be well-known, so the film can attract greater public attention,” he said.
