Sabah FC Coach Cautions Against Complacency Ahead Of Kelantan TRW Match

KOTA KINABALU, Aug 22 (Bernama) -- Sabah FC coach Alto Linus urged his players against being complacent ahead of their Super League match against Kelantan The Real Warriors FC (TRW) tomorrow after doing well in their previous two matches.

He said the team must remain focused and consistent against their opponents at home in Likas Stadium after drawing 1-1 with Kuala Lumpur (KL) City FC in a Super League away match and beating Bunga Raya FC 6-0 in the first round of the FA Cup.

"The last two matches really helped boost the team’s confidence, but we can’t become complacent. Every match is important and when we play in front of our own fans in Likas, we need to remain focused and play with discipline,” he said in a statement today, adding that the team is facing a slight challenge in preparing for the match as some players have yet to recover fully from their injuries.

"There are several players who are not yet fully fit but I’m confident that whoever is given the chance will give their best for the team. All players know what to do when they’re fielded,” he added.

Regarding their rivals tomorrow, he said that their new coach E Elavarasan has had a positive impact and has made them into challengers who require attention.

"They’re not easy, they just beat KL City FC 3-1 in the FA Cup at Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium. That itself shows that they are on the right track. But when we play at home, of course we want to make sure we get three points in Likas,” he said.
