Local Companies Boost HKHM 2025 Celebrations Through Sponsorships

PUTRAJAYA, Aug 22 (Bernama) -- Patriotic spirit is evident, not only among Malaysians who will take part in the National Day and Malaysia Day (HKHM) 2025 celebrations, but also among local companies which have stepped forward to offer support, through various forms of sponsorship.

For Carsome, participating as a platinum sponsor this year represents more than just joining the parade - it also marks a decade-long journey for the automotive technology company.

Carsome co-founder and chief executive officer of Carsome Academy, Teoh Jiun Ee, expressed his excitement as he and co-founder Eric Cheng will be marching with the company team, for the first time.

“Since its inception in 2015, Carsome has been serving Malaysians for 10 years. We are proud to be here, participating in the parade and celebrating this milestone with the nation. This year, we are offering special car service vouchers worth RM100, free road tax renewal vouchers, and battery replacement vouchers worth RM50,” he told Bernama.

He said this at the Sponsorship Handover Ceremony, by HKHM 2025 Strategic Partners at Menara Komunikasi, here.

According to Teoh, the vouchers, totalling more than RM500,000, will be distributed to visitors by the organiser.

Iconic brand Milo, a gold sponsor, continues to uphold its long-standing tradition of participating in the National Day celebration - a practice deeply ingrained in Malaysian culture for decades.

Milo Malaysia assistant brand manager Adrienna Chow said that Milo’s involvement in the Merdeka parade dates back several decades.

“This year, we are bringing 12 Milo trucks as usual, plus two additional Milo breakfast cereal trucks, making a total of 14 vehicles,” she said.

“We want to ensure that every participant and spectator along the parade route can feel the excitement. Milo and Malaysia are inseparable,” she said, adding that the brand’s support will continue at the Malaysia Day celebration in Penang, on Sept 16.

Also adding to the excitement of Merdeka eve is a fireworks display, sponsored by local company Explomag Sdn Bhd, serving as the silver sponsor.

The company’s director and pyrotechnics expert, Krishna Moorthy Thangiah, who has over 26 years of experience in the fireworks display industry, said that, while he has staged shows abroad, including in Singapore, nothing compares with the satisfaction of serving one’s own country.

“This time, we are sponsoring almost two-thirds of the total cost of the five-minute show, which typically ranges from RM120,000 to RM250,000,” he said.

“It is an honour for us, especially since this year’s celebration is being held with greater fervour, after several years affected by the pandemic. I am proud to present this performance to Malaysians,” he said.

Earlier, Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil announced that HKHM 2025 had successfully secured sponsorships worth more than RM22 million, from 113 strategic partners, comprising RM1.9 million in cash and RM20.24 million in goods and services.

The National Day parade at Dataran Putrajaya on Aug 31 is set to celebrate unity across all walks of life while showcasing the contributions of local companies proud to be part of Malaysia.
