KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 22 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) Motorcycle Club has organised for the Kembara Jalur Gemilang convoy as a platform to foster ties between staff and instill a sense of love in the country among the public.
Its president, Amrizan Madian said the one-day convoy, organised by Bernama and supervised by the Bernama Employees’ Club, involves former and current Bernama staff riding 20 high-powered motorcycles starting from the Gombak Toll Plaza at 7.30 am tomorrow.
“Convoy participants will travel 200 kilometres (km) along Karak Highway and distribute Jalur Gemilang flags to motorcyclists before finishing in Kuala Kubu Bharu.
“The programme is different from previous programmes as it not only involves former Bernama staff, but is held outside Wisma Bernama during National Month.
“The convoy is a medium to boost the patriotic spirit among Malaysians by distributing Jalur Gemilang flags during our travels,” he said when met at the flag off at Wisma Bernama here today, which was officiated by Bernama Chief Executive Officer Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin, in the presence of Bernama Editor-in-Chief Arul Rajoo Durar Raj and Bernama Acting Deputy Editor-in-Chief (News Services) Mohd Shukri Ishak.
Meanwhile, Bernama Motorcycle Club secretary Muzammil Abdullah said the programme is a catalyst to strengthen relations between co-workers and contribute to a rise in productivity.
“The Kembara Jalur Gemilang programme is different as it not only fosters ties between Bernama staff as a community, but also instills love towards the country through the participation of various races and religions,” he said.
Since the club’s founding on Aug 31, 2023, it currently has about 80 members and has held various convoy programmes including visiting Mat Kilau’s mausoleum in Jerantut, Pahang, the club’s anniversary celebrations in Janda Baik, Pahang and a series of tours to Kota Bharu in Kelantan; Kuantan, Pahang and around Selangor.
