Exercise Satria Perkasa Puts 9th Brigade Capabilities, Operational Readiness To The Test

KUCHING, Aug 24 (Bernama) -- The 14-day Exercise Satria Perkasa 2025, held around Betong, Lubok Antu, and Batang Ai, drew to a close today.

The exercise, which commenced on Aug 11, was aimed at testing the competency of commanders and staff of the 9th Malaysian Infantry Brigade (9 Bgd).

In a statement today, the Intelligence Division of 9 Bgd headquarters said the exercise, conducted as a Field Training Exercise (FTX), was a continuation of Exercise Satria Gagah, which was held in early August.

First Infantry Division (1 Div) Commander Maj Gen Datuk Khairul Anuar Abd Aziz said the exercise served as a “thermometer” for commanding officers to assess the training levels, strengths, weaknesses, and knowledge mastery of their personnel.

“Exercises like this must be fully utilised to sharpen the competencies of personnel and strengthened with corrective actions to enhance training and team management, thereby maintaining the credibility and readiness of the Army,” he said when officiating the closing of the exercise today.

According to him, the exercise also provided a platform to assess and improve the 9 Bgd’s operational, administrative, and logistical capabilities in dealing with possible threats.

He said it also assessed the effectiveness of combat units and elements under the command of 1 Div and 9 Bgd.
