KUALA TERENGGANU, Aug 30 (Bernama) -- Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) is aiming for a 20 per cent increase in international postgraduate student enrolment by 2026, particularly in core research areas such as Health Sciences, Islamic Civilisation, Sustainable Agriculture, and Technology Innovation.
UniSZA vice-chancellor, Prof Datuk Dr Fadzli Adam, said the university has 706 international postgraduate students and nine international pre-university students out of 14,274 active students.
“This commitment is also supported by a RM300,000 raise in scholarship funds, with ongoing efforts to solidify international research networks and academic mobility programmes,” he said in a statement today.
He added that as of July this year, UniSZA recorded 669 publications in high-impact journals, reflecting the university’s flourishing global research collaborations.
According to him, UniSZA has 13 post-doctoral researchers and 75 research fellows who are active in various strategic fields.
“At the same time, UniSZA remains committed to its policy of enrolling five to 10 per cent international pre-university students, in line with the Ministry of Higher Education’s guidelines, while continuing to prioritise local students,” he added.
