BALING, Sept 4 (Bernama) -- Following the success of previous events in several states, the MADANI Rakyat Programme (PMR) is now being held at the Baling District Council Sports Complex, offering a range of services and attractions for the public.
Kedah PMR, led by the Home Ministry (KDN) in collaboration with the Performance Acceleration Coordination Unit (PACU) and the Implementation Coordination Unit, Prime Minister’s Department, will run from today until Saturday.
With the theme ‘Rakyat Prihatin, Negara Aman, Masa Depan Terjamin’, Kedah PMR embodies the government's vision of fostering a united, resilient, and caring society.
The programme runs from 9 am to 10 pm on Thursday and Friday, and from 9 am to 6 pm on Saturday. It offers targeted activities focused on the specific needs of the local community.
Key attractions include booths showcasing federal and state government services, community welfare initiatives, MADANI RAHMAH and Agro MADANI sales, traffic summons discounts from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), health screening services, job opportunities, and a helmet exchange programme by the Road Transport Department (JPJ).
In addition, visitors can have their motorcycle engine oil changed and enjoy free haircuts provided by the Malaysia Volunteer Department (RELA).
As a district strongly associated with the plantation and commodity sectors, the event will also feature the distribution of seeds and saplings to visitors.
In line with the Malaysia MADANI aspirations, inclusive policies, strengthened security, and balanced development are being prioritised for the benefit of the people of Kedah and Malaysia as a whole.
This programme is a clear demonstration of the government’s commitment to bringing services directly to the people, through a closer, more accessible, and inclusive approach
The closing ceremony for Kedah PMR will take place this Saturday and will be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
