Putin Praises UAE President for Driving AI Development

MOSCOW, Dec 12 (Bernama-WAM) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin has commended United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his visionary leadership and commitment to advancing artificial intelligence (AI), Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

Speaking at the AI Journey international conference in Moscow, Putin underscored the pivotal role Sheikh Mohamed plays in fostering AI innovation.

He highlighted the UAE's impressive global progress in AI, noting its leap in international rankings last year as a testament to its remarkable achievements in the field.

"The UAE has demonstrated outstanding progress in artificial intelligence, achieving global recognition and reaching unprecedented heights," Putin said, acknowledging the nation's efforts under Sheikh Mohamed’s leadership.

Putin also outlined AI's transformative potential, describing it as a critical resource for national development.

He stressed that AI technologies are key to bolstering defence capabilities, driving economic growth, advancing public administration and revolutionising social sectors.

Over the past year, AI has reshaped entire industries, Putin remarked, heralding a new era of innovation.

"This marks the beginning of a revolution in engineering and the development of groundbreaking components and devices," he added.
