SHAH ALAM, Jan 9 (Bernama) -- Tourism Selangor has announced the appointment of Chua Yee Ling as its new chief executive officer (CEO), effective today.
Chua, a former state assemblyman for Kuala Sepetang in Perak, succeeds Azrul Shah Mohamad, who had led Tourism Selangor for five years since January 2020.
In a statement, Tourism Selangor described Chua’s appointment as a strategic move to strengthen the agency ahead of the Visit Selangor Year 2025 campaign.
“The board of directors, management and staff of Tourism Selangor warmly welcome the new CEO. With 17 years of extensive experience in administration across various industries, coupled with her expertise and credibility, we are confident she will make a significant contribution to the agency,” the statement read.
Tourism Selangor expressed optimism that Chua’s impressive track record in both public and private sectors would enhance collaboration with the state government and propel the tourism industry to greater heights.
Chua is no stranger to Tourism Selangor, having served as the agency’s Industry Development and Business Networking manager for four consecutive years.
She also held key roles in government, including as a Special Officer to the Minister of Housing and Local Government, and gained valuable experience as the Kuala Sepetang assemblyman.
