BACHOK, Feb 15 (Bernama) -- The Kelantan Information Department (JaPen) has set up the Merpati Komuniti MADANI Cadets in every district across the state to help combat fraud, incitement, and online crimes, including those on social media.
Its director Muhd Nor Aswadi Md Nor said the cadets were responsible for assisting the government in disseminating accurate information to the community to prevent them from being deceived by activities that could cause annoyance.
“The strategic cooperation between the MADANI community and NADI (the National Information Dissemination Centre) is part of the government’s efforts to help the community find solutions if they fall victim to online fraud, online gambling, and cyberbullying,” he said.
He said this to reporters after officiating the Merpati Komuniti MADANI Cadets with the Bachok NADI Series 1/2025 at the Beris Kubor Besar NADI here today.
On Jan 21, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil launched the Online Safety Roadshow, a ministry initiative to raise public awareness about online safety and help users avoid falling victim to online scams.
The roadshow will also be implemented in over 10,000 public schools and universities nationwide to increase internet safety awareness at all levels of society.
