Overhead Line Damage Disrupts KTMB Train Services

12/03/2025 11:38 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, March 12 (Bernama) -- Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) train services were disrupted after a fallen tree at KM386.50, between the Kuala Lumpur and Putra stations, caused an overhead line disconnection at 4.01 pm today.

KTMB, in a statement, said the incident affected electric train services (ETS) and KTM Komuter operations on the Port Klang – Tanjung Malim – Port Klang and Batu Caves – Pulau Sebang – Batu Caves routes, causing delays of 60 to 120 minutes as only a single track was in use.

Passengers on ETS services who experience delays of over two hours may request a refund if they choose not to continue their journey.

"Repair works are being carried out by KTMB's technical team to restore normal train operations as soon as possible," the statement read.

KTMB staff and Auxiliary Police have also been deployed at stations to assist affected passengers.

KTMB apologised for the inconvenience and advised passengers to obtain real-time updates via KTMB’s official social media channels, at station counters, by calling KTMB's Call Centre at 03-9779 1200, or visiting KTMB’s official website.
