GAZA, Dec 17 (Bernama-WAFA) -- The Palestinian Education Ministry said that 12,799 students have been killed and 20,942 injured since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank on Oct 7 last year, the Palestine News and Info Agency (WAFA) reported.
In a statement, the ministry stated that the number of students killed in the Gaza Strip since the start of the aggression has exceeded 12,681, with 20,311 others injured. In the West Bank, 118 students have been killed, 631 injured, and 538 others arrested.
It stated that 598 teachers and administrators have been killed and 3,801 injured in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, with more than 158 detained in the West Bank.
The ministry highlighted that 425 government schools, universities, and their buildings, as well as 65 facilities affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), have been bombed and vandalised in the Gaza Strip.
It also confirmed that 788,000 students in the Gaza Strip remain deprived of attending schools and universities since the beginning of the aggression, while most students suffer from psychological trauma and face severe health conditions.
