KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 10 (Bernama) -- The High-Level Committee (HLC) meeting on coordinating the national halal agenda today agreed to establish a research lab to implement the game changers identified during the 2024 Halal Ecosystem Transformation Workshop.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who chaired the meeting, said it was a follow-up to the findings of the workshop held last year.
He said the workshop identified several key game changers to enhance the country's halal industry.
“The main focus of this meeting was to outline the holistic development of the halal industry in the long term and to better coordinate the halal ecosystem,” he said in a Facebook post.
He stressed that ensuring Malaysia’s position as a global leader in the halal industry requires collective effort, as halal is a national agenda and a shared responsibility to uphold for the faith and the well-being of the ummah.
“May this endeavour yield positive outcomes and further strengthen the nation’s halal industry, Insya-Allah,” he added.
