MACC Consultation And Corruption Prevention Panel Members Receive Appointment Letters

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 15 (Bernama) – Seven members of an independent monitoring panel of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) received their appointment letters today.

In a statement, MACC said they were all appointed as members of the Consultation and Corruption Prevention Panel (PPPR), comprising new and reappointments.

Appointed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for a two-year term from Dec 1, 2024 to Nov 30, 2026, the members were presented with their letters of appointment by MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki at the commission’s headquarters in Putrajaya.

All appointees are professionals and experts from various fields, recognised for their skills, expertise and integrity, according to MACC.

"Their expertise is expected to add value to MACC's efforts in combating corruption, ensuring the effectiveness of operations and preventing abuse of power in the country," the statement said.

The newly appointed members include Datin Yasmin Ahmad Merican as chairman, along with Prof Emerita Datuk Dr. Asma Ismail, Professor Dr Haidar Dziyauddin, Datuk Lee Heng Cheong and Prof Dr Sarjit Singh Darshan Singh.

Also appointed to the panel were Ali Hassan Mohd Hassan and Kamaruddin Mape.
