KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 1 (Bernama) -- FIVE Petroleum Malaysia (FIVE Petroleum) has contributed RM1 million to support educational, charitable, sports, and religious organisations, reinforcing its commitment to community empowerment.

Its founder and chief executive officer Datuk Seri Dr King Lim Chin Fui said the donation included RM500,000 channelled to the TARC Education Foundation.

The contribution was presented at the company’s recent Chinese New Year Open House event.

“This noble act reflects FIVE’s deep-seated belief that true corporate success is not measured solely by profitability but by the positive impact made on society.

“At FIVE, we believe that success must be shared, and growth must be inclusive. Our commitment to education, social welfare, and sustainable development extends far beyond business. This contribution is a testament to our responsibility in creating a brighter future for all Malaysians,” he said in a statement.

The Chinese New Year Open House was attended by distinguished guests, including Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail; Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov; Malaysia’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan Ilham Tuah Illias and Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) deputy president Datuk Looi Hai Ting.

At the event, Lim, who is also Malaysia-Uzbekistan Business Alliance president, emphasised his vision for expanding Malaysia’s trade with the global market and highlighted the strategic collaboration between Malaysia, a key ASEAN member, and Uzbekistan, a leading Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) country, as a crucial step towards stronger economic ties.

“The upcoming visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Malaysia is expected to bring forth significant announcements that will benefit both nations.

“Additionally, FIVE Petroleum aims to play a pivotal role in the energy sector by fostering collaboration with CIS through Uzbekistan, reinforcing its commitment to international partnerships and sustainable growth,” he said.
