KANGAR, June 25 (Bernama) -- The Perlis government is taking seriously the recent rebuke by the Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail regarding the presence of ‘Little Napoleons’ within the Kangar Municipal Council (MPKangar) and is committed to addressing the issue effectively.
Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli said the state government greatly values His Royal Highness' concern and expresses appreciation for the reminder, describing it as a timely call to strengthen integrity and efficiency in the state administration.
"We take this matter seriously and the state government is committed to enhancing delivery of public services and ensuring a more efficient administration," he told reporters after chairing the State Executive Council meeting at Kompleks Seri Putra here today.
Yesterday, Bernama reported that Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin, when officiating the groundbreaking ceremony for the new MPKangar building, criticised certain municipal officers for failing to carry out their duties properly.
The Raja of Perlis described these individuals as ‘Little Napoleons’, warning that their actions could damage the council’s reputation.
His Royal Highness noted that MPKangar as a whole, had been carrying out its responsibilities well, but stressed that a few officers must urgently improve their attitudes and work ethics.
