SHAH ALAM, Aug 5 (Bernama) -- Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh has described the Selangor Red Giants (SRG.OG) team's performance as "good” despite their failure to defend the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Mid Season Cup (MSC) recently.
She said the team's achievement in qualifying for the final is something to be proud of.
"I feel that they did not fail by finishing second. A good achievement. The prize money is also quite lucrative.
"So, I want to congratulate the Selangor Red Giants (SRG.OG) team for making it to the final,” she told reporters at a media conference after the Malaysia Games (SUKMA) Supreme Council Meeting here today.
On Saturday (Aug 2), SRG.OG failed to defend their title when they lost 4-1 to Team Liquid PH (TLPH) of the Philippines in the final in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Champions TLPH took home USD1 million (about RM4.2 million) while runners-up SRG.OG pocketed USD500,000.
Meanwhile, another representative from the Philippines, ONIC PH, finished third when they edged ONIC ID of Indonesia 3-2 in the third-fourth placing playoff.
