KOTA BHARU, Aug 9 (Bernama) -- The tabling of the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, which includes development projects for Kelantan, reflects the federal government’s continued support for the state, said Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud.
He said the strategic development aspects outlined in the 13MP for Kelantan would ensure the comprehensive well-being for the people of the state.
“On behalf of the state government and all its people, we express our deepest appreciation to the Prime Minister for the allocation and continued support to Kelantan.
“Various major projects have been identified for implementation in Kelantan, including the construction of a water treatment plant in Machang, establishment of a blue economy hub, upgrading of Tok Bali port, and a flood mitigation project in Sungai Golok,” he said at the Closing Ceremony of the Kelantan MADANI Rakyat Programme (PMR) 2025 here today.
Mohd Nassuruddin also welcomed the federal government’s resolve to give special attention to underdeveloped states in efforts to address development imbalances.
“This is because the distribution and spillover of progress towards driving Malaysia to developed nation status by 2030 must be carried out fairly and inclusively,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mohd Nassuruddin said Kelantan hoped that Anwar would give due consideration to several priority projects for the state that had yet to be approved but were vital for development and public safety.
He said the projects involved constructing the Sungai Lebir Dam in Kuala Krai for flood mitigation, building the Regional Sewage Treatment Plant in Tunjong, establishing the Rantau Panjang Special Economic Zone, implementing the East Coast Expressway Phase 3 project, and setting up the Collection, Processing, and Packaging Centre in Lojing to position Kelantan as the nation’s primary food production hub.
“We sincerely hope the federal government will give due attention to these projects and ensure the required allocations are channelled soon.
“We believe that only through continued close cooperation, supported by mutual reinforcement between the federal and state levels, can we realise a comprehensive and inclusive development agenda with high impact for the people,” he said.
