350 Ipoh B40 Households Get Food Aid From Ariff Frozen Food

IPOH, May 3 (Bernama) -- Frozen food supplier, Ariff Frozen Food, delivered food aid to 350 B40 recipients from various races around Ipoh district.

Ariff Frozen Food managing director, Fauziah Mohd Arib said the food aid implemented by the company since 2016 in collaboration with the Perak Indian Muslim Association (PRIM) was aimed at helping to ease the burden they are facing due to the rising cost of living.

"We hold this food aid event once a year because we want to share sustenance with those in need.

"The food aid provided comprise rice, flour, vermicelli, eggs, vegetables as well as fish, seafood supplies and a chicken with a total value of RM150," she said when met by reporters at the food aid handover programme at Jalan Tasek here today.

Fauziah said her party expects to be able to contribute to about 500 food aid recipients in the future.

Meanwhile, a recipient Abdul Majid Kalaiselvan Abdullah, 70, from Flat Ashby here said the aid he received had helped to some extent reduce the cost of spending on basic necessities.

"Alhamdulillah, this food aid can cover some of my food supply with my wife and six children.

"Every month I spend about RM300 to buy basic and wet food items," said Abdul Majid, who had both legs amputated due to diabetes.
