Malaysia-Turkiye Forge Groundbreaking Quantum Intelligence Partnership

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 11 (Bernama) -- Malaysia entered a new frontier in technological innovation today, partnering with Turkiye in a groundbreaking collaboration focused on quantum intelligence.

The tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), exchanged at the Malaysia-Turkiye Business Forum, here, between MIMOS Bhd (Malaysia), HAVELSAN (Turkiye) and TechInsight Sdn Bhd (Malaysia), was attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

MIMOS in a statement said the initiative aligned with the nation’s aspiration of becoming a Digital Nation, supported by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI)'s vision to position Malaysia as a leader in frontier technologies, particularly in artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum intelligence.

According to the statement, the visionary MoU established a robust framework for the Quantum Intelligence Infrastructure Collaboration, combining the expertise of HAVELSAN, MIMOS and TechInsight to pioneer advancements in AI and quantum intelligence.

“Under this partnership, TechInsight will serve as the business commercialisation partner, driving the deployment of Quantum Intelligence Infrastructure Services across key industries.

“The alliance will focus on strategic assessments, resource sharing, governance models, and scalable operational frameworks, ensuring that AI and Quantum capabilities are seamlessly integrated to enhance technological resilience and economic competitiveness.

“As a strategic agency under MOSTI, MIMOS ensures that the collaboration aligns with MOSTI’s National Science, Technology & Innovation Policy (DSTIN) 2021-2030, which aims to drive high-impact technology adoption and foster a knowledge-driven economy,” the statement read.

MIMOS acting president and group chief executive officer Dr Saat Shukri Embong in the same statement said the partnership reaffirmed Malaysia’s commitment to advancing technological frontiers and fostering international collaborations that drove innovation and economic growth.

“Under the leadership of MOSTI, MIMOS continues to spearhead cutting-edge research in AI and Quantum Intelligence, ensuring that Malaysia remains at the forefront of global technological advancements,” he said.

At the same time, HAVELSAN chief executive officer Dr Mehmet Akif Nacar also emphasised the synergy between both nations in shaping the future of intelligence infrastructure, saying that the strategic MoU sets the foundation for a future powered by AI and Quantum advancements.

“HAVELSAN is committed to pioneering technology solutions that push the boundaries of innovation. By collaborating with MIMOS and TechInsight, we ensure that AI and quantum advancements are integrated seamlessly into critical infrastructure, paving the way for a smarter, more secure future,” he said.

Meanwhile, TechInsight managing director Syed Sirajudeen Omer said the company was committed to being at the forefront of technological evolution, ensuring that quantum intelligence, technologies and AI drove real-world solutions.
