KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 7 (Bernama) -- McDonald's Malaysia's first-ever Mekdi Chinese New Year Open House held at its Bandar Sri Damansara restaurant today, spreads prosperity cheer across the neighbourhood.

McDonald's Malaysia's Chief Marketing Officer Chin Mei Lee said the open house was organised to celebrate the community that has been pouring their support towards the world's leading food service retailer all along.

"All these years McDonald's has been fostering connections with the community around them so this year we want to take it up the notch to open it for public to enjoy our hospitality in conjunction with our Prosperity Campaign.

"Prosperity is not just about material wealth, it’s all about relationship and friendship. We just want to give back to the communities that have been supporting us all these years and truly believe in bringing feel-good moments for everyone," she told the media at the McDonald's Bandar Sri Damansara restaurant, here today.

She added that a vibrant open house will also be held at McDonald's Kota Laksamana on Feb 8 as well as McDonald's Greenlane, Penang on Feb 9, to celebrate the joyous occasion with a series of exciting activities planned.

Besides that, McDonald's Malaysia also offers complimentary Prosperity Burger set meals to all guests as a special gesture of appreciation from 6pm to 7pm, at all three Mekdi Chinese New Year Open House venues.

Through the Prosperity Campaign, McDonald's Malaysia aims to create meaningful moments which celebrate values and strengthen connections with its customers and community.

The open house held at its Bandar Sri Damansara restaurant today featured an array of exciting highlights, including traditional Lion dance performances, a vibrant 'Lau Sang' session with McDonald's Prosperity Lou-Lou Curly Fries as well as a spectacular firework display.

For over a decade, McDonald's Malaysia has marked the Chinese New Year season by spreading joy through visits to old folks’ homes but this year the celebration has expanded to include customers and communities in selected locations.

McDonald's Malaysia serves over nine million customers a month at more than 370 restaurants nationwide with 42 years of presence in the country.
