KUALA LUMPUR, March 4 (Bernama) -- The Budimas Charitable Foundation, in collaboration with the Sarawak State Education Department (JPN Sarawak), has launched the Budimas Food Charity Fund (BFCF) at Sekolah Kebangsaan Rampangi, Kuching, Sarawak, marking its expansion into East Malaysia.

JPN Sarawak Senior Assistant Director of Special Education, Ahmat Daud Lugom, who officiated the event on Feb 27, highlighted the importance of a nutritious breakfast in enhancing students’ concentration and academic performance.

The initiative will initially provide free breakfasts to 300 students from Sekolah Kebangsaan Rampangi and Sekolah Kebangsaan Rancangan Perumahan Rakyat, with plans for future expansion. Budimas also donated school supplies and six laptops to support digital learning.

Budimas Principal Officer Anne Rajasaikaran emphasised the urgency of tackling malnutrition among schoolchildren, noting its impact on their development and education.

Established in 2010, BFCF now benefits over 5,000 students in 168 schools nationwide, with support from the Ministry of Education and donors.
