KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 10 -- The Malaysia Premier Futsal League (MPFL) this season will see more intense competition when four new teams confirmed their participation in the second edition of the championship scheduled to start in March.
The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) in its latest Facebook posting today announced Sarawak, Kelantan, Negeri Sembilan and KPM-PST Mustangs are coming in and the league this year will see a total of 12 teams joining in the fray for the title.
The other eight teams are Pahang Rangers FC, Terengganu, Perak, Kuala Lumpur, Kedah, Penang, Kuala Lumpur City FC, apart from Selangor who were the inaugural champions last season.
The tournament will be held from March 14 to Sept 30 on a home and away format.
The top eight teams after the league competition will battle on a knock-out basis for the Malaysia Futsal Cup from Oct 31 to Dec 12.
