PUTRAJAYA, Jan 28 -- The Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) has developed the ‘Smart Hadith’ application to facilitate online searches and to verify the authenticity of hadiths.
Jakim director-general Datuk Paimuzi Yahya in a statement today said the application was developed in collaboration with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and is aimed at upholding hadith as the second source of reference for Muslims after the al-Quran.
“With the ‘Hadith Sahih at Your Fingertips’ tagline, the application also has several functions including search function, daily hadith, social media sharing and bookmarks,” he said adding that Smart Hadith is available for download now on the App Store and Google Play Store.
The application was launched by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Dr Mujahid Yusof, in conjunction with a Mufti conference organised by Jakim held here today.
Paimuzi said the application was also a platform to access more information about hadith especially for the target group such as preachers, researchers, lecturers and students.
On the conference, he said it was held to streamline the management of fatwa institutions and improve coordination between the federal government and the Mufti Department in all states.
