KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 6 -- SME Bank is offering a temporary relief on financial commitments to customers affected by the 2019 novel coronavirus outbreak in order to alleviate their financial burden.
Group president and chief executive officer Aria Putera Ismail said customers could come forward to the bank to be reviewed and considered for the relief to ensure the continuation of their business.
“With this temporary relief initiative, our affected clients will be able to manage their finances effectively to ensure sustainability,” he said in a statement today.
He said the bank, an agency under the supervision of the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, remained committed to supporting the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) during this difficult time.
“Our mandate of nurturing and developing the SMEs continues to be our focus and various support efforts are undertaken in ensuring the goal of making Malaysia an entrepreneurial nation as envisioned in the National Entrepreneurship Policy is achieved,” Aria Putera said.
