KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 11 -- Online healthcare platform, BookDoc, has pledged RM5 million to make a 2019-nCoV telehealth service available for free to its app users.

A statement from the company today said it would subsidise doctor consultation via the app from tomorrow till March 31.

The free care is a BookDoc corporate social responsibility initiative aimed at helping those affected so that appropriate measures can be implemented.

"We hope the public can mitigate the risks associated with this deadly disease. We also hope to do whatever we can to support those on the front line combating the outbreak," said BookDoc founder and chief executive officer, Datuk Chevy Beh.

The BookDoc app can be downloaded for free via the Apple App Store and Google Play Store and gives access to a tele-consult platform to reach out to doctors anytime and anywhere.

With a presence in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Thailand, BookDoc operates across the healthcare continuum and incentivises an active lifestyle as well.
