CYBERJAYA, Aug 18 -- In support of the Sama-Sama Digital initiative to empower and provide digitalisation support to Bumiputera small and medium enterprises (SMEs) affected by COVID-19, MYNIC Bhd has contributed 2,000 domain names to enable the participants to establish their digital presence.
MYNIC chief executive officer Datuk Hasnul Fadhly Hasan, in a statement today, said the domain contributions under the Sama-Sama Digital initiative packages would therefore increase the adoption of .MY in Malaysia, especially in helping Bumiputera SMEs to be prepared for the digital economy.
"We wanted to help SMEs out there to be prepared for the global digital economy. As with the pandemic, digitalisation is inevitable, and at MYNIC, we want to enable digital inclusivity to Bumiputera SMEs out there," he said.
"Not only will these SMEs be able to reach a wider market, but they will also be able to reap other benefits such as an increase in sales and revenue,” he added.
MYNIC, an agency under the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia, is the official .MY domain Registrar.
The Sama-Sama Digital programme was initiated by Malaysia's web hosting company, Exabytes and Ekuiti Nasional Bhd (Ekuinas).
