BookDoc hosting Malaysia’s largest virtual run

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 7 – More than 12,000 people have signed up for the BookDoc Merdeka Virtual Run from Aug 15 – Sept 15 which is being organised with new reward partners Under Armour, Li-Ning, Original Classics, Getha, Salad Atelier, Pestle & Mortar Clothing and Synthetic Aesthetics.

BookDoc founder and chief executive officer, Datuk Chevy Beh, said the pandemic -- which has become a focus of attention -- has affected many and changed the way we view health and well-being.

“Runners have to adjust to ‘new norms’ to stop the spread of COVID-19. The fitness campaign will boost the immune system and help in combating the coronavirus,” he told reporters during a reward partnership launch ceremony today.

Under Armour marketing manager, Lina Ismail, said more people are fitness-conscious now and that her sportswear company is proud to be one of the partners in the BookDoc virtual run to inspire the next generation of athletes.

Pestle & Mortar co-founder, Hugh Koh said this partnership is important because the clothing brand speaks to a young crowd and it is essential that young people are aware of the need to lead a healthy life.

To join the challenge labelled as the ‘largest virtual run in Malaysia’, you will need to download the free BookDoc app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store then sync it with a wearable fitness tracker device, fitness tracker app or smartphone.

Exciting prizes await participants with the highest amount of steps including a RM750 e-voucher that can be used for purchases from the reward partners for those who achieve a 160,000 step goal.
