KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 30 -- The Super League match between Kedah and Melaka United, scheduled to be held at the Darul Aman Stadium in Alor Setar on Friday (Oct 2), has been postponed to Sunday (Oct 4).
Malaysian Football League (MFL) chief executive officer Datuk Ab Ghani Hassan said the decision was made after receiving an application from Melaka United, who have been placed under quarantine since their return from Sabah on Monday.
He said the change in the fixture was to ensure Melaka United have sufficient time to prepare for the game as they would only be allowed to train once they receive their COVID-19 test results tomorrow.
“I was informed that the Melaka team are undergoing quarantine at a hotel near Bandar Melaka and have had two swab tests done on Sept 27 and Sept 29. The second test results will be known tomorrow.
“Kedah have also agreed to the decision (to postpone the match), which goes to show their sporting spirit,” he said in a statement today
