ISMAIL SABRI HEADS LIST OF RECIPIENTS OF MELAKA STATE AWARDS

MELAKA, Oct 10  -- Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob heads the list of 20 people who will receive awards and medals today in conjunction with the 71st birthday of Melaka Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Mohd Ali Rustam.

State Secretary Datuk Seri Dr Hasim Hasan said Ismail Sabri would receive the Darjah Gemilang Seri Melaka (DGSM) which carries the title ‘Datuk Seri’.

The other recipient of the award is Higher Education Minister Datuk Noraini Ahmad, but the two figures will not be able to attend the investiture ceremony because they are currently undergoing quarantine.

"The other three recipients of the DGSM are Chief of Defence Force General Tan Seri Affendi Buang, High Court Judge Datuk Mohd Firuz Jafril and Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Special Branch director  Datuk Mohamed Farid Abu Hasan," he said in a statement.

Hasim said four people would receive the Darjah Cemerlang Seri Melaka (DCSM) which carries the title ‘Datuk Wira’. They are Melaka Police chief Datuk Mat Kasim Karim, political secretary to the Chief Minister Datuk Sazali Muhd Din @ Muhamad Din, Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) president Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin and National Silat Federation (Pesaka) president Datuk Megat Zulkarnain Omardin.

Hasim said the seven recipients of the Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka (DMSM) which carries the title ‘Datuk’ are Works Ministry secretary-general Datuk Dr Syed Omar Sharifuddin Syed Ikhsan; Plantation Industries and Commodities secretary-general Ravi Muthayah; state Health and Anti-Drug Committee chairman Rahmad Mariman and Prime Minister's Department, Economic Planning Unit director-general Datuk Saiful Anuar Lebai Hussen.

"The others are Melaka Health director Dr Ismail Ali, senior private secretary to the Chief Minister Abd Kadir Md Idris and religious advisor to the Chief Minister Kamarudin Sidek," he said.

Four people -- Assistant Chief of Staff of Human Resource, Rear Admiral Abu Bakar Mohd Ajis, Ministry of Health’s Disease Control director Dr Norhayati Rusli, head of PDRM Management Department SAC Shaharon Anuar Abdul Latif and Hang Tuah Jaya Municipal Council president Shadan Othman -- will receive the Darjah Pangkuan Seri Melaka (DPSM) which also carries the title Datuk.
