Perak FC stands firm in using new logo

IPOH, Feb 4  -- The Football Association of Perak (PAFA) is standing firm in its decision to have Perak FC use the new logo for the Malaysian League (M-League) tournament this season despite receiving harsh criticisms from The Bos Gaurus supporters.

“We concede that the supporters have the right to voice out their opinions, criticisms or suggestions on the logo and we are open on the matter.

“However, I can only say that, to date, the decision to use the logo stays...It was the decision made by the previous top leadership of the association,” PAFA vice-president Datuk Muhammad Yadzan Mohammad told Bernama today.

On Feb 1, Perak FC introduced the new logo through a video posted on both its Facebook and Instagram pages with a caption that read: “A new chapter begins, but the history remains. Legends reborn. The legacy continues. This is Perak Football Club.”

Many disputed that the logo, which was made up of an image of a white gaur on a black background with a yellow border, showed no creativity.

On whether changes or improvements would be made to the logo, Muhammad Yadzan said the matter would have to be discussed with various parties including the state government before any decision could be made.

“We will consider the matter, but we urge the supporters to be patient because we have more urgent matters to solve first especially involving the privatisation process and the separation between football club (FC) and football association (FA),’’ he said.

On the salaries of the Perak players which were said to have gone unpaid since November last year, Mohamad Yadzan said it “will be solved before the league kicks off’’.
