KUALA LUMPUR, April 27 -- Sri Pahang FC, who are languishing second from bottom in the Super League, are expected to reshuffle the team during the second Malaysia League (M-League) transfer window and save themselves from being relegated to the second-tier Premier League next season.

The Tok Gajah squad have endured a tough time in the Super League, having recorded just one win in 10 matches, so far, to be in 11thh spot in the 12-team standings with five points.

Ahead of the second transfer window from May 3-30, several current import players are set to leave Sri Pahang FC while some, including Myanmar’s Under-23 striker Aung Kaung Mann, have been linked with the team.

According to the website https://www.transfermarkt.com/, Aung Kaung, who plays for Myanmar’s Ayeyawady United FC, was loaned to Thailand’s League 2 outfit Khon Kaen United this season and managed to score five goals in 16 appearances.

The striker, who was the top scorer for Myanmar in the 2019 SEA Games, is currently in Kuala Lumpur and admitted via the social media that he would be joining Sri Pahang FC soon, although the club’s management was not prepared to comment on the matter.

“We do not deny that there will be personnel changes in the team, but our focus is on this week’s match against (basement side) UiTM FC in Kuantan. We have no choice but to collect all three points.

“Looking at the results of the previous matches, we definitely need to shake up the team,” Sri Pahang chief executive officer Datuk Mohamed Suffian Awang told Bernama today.

Sri Pahang FC’s third straight defeat recently meant they have gone six matches without a win since edging Sabah FC 2-1 at the Darul Makmur Stadium in Kuantan in mid-March.

Coach Dollah Salleh’s men look to be struggling in every part of the field, having scored just six goals and conceding 18 in the 10 matches so far.
