17/09/2021 09:56 AM

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 16  -- Sarawak Consolidated Industries Berhad (SCIB) jointly organised a blood donation drive with the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) blood bank today in conjunction with Malaysia Day.

Group managing director and chief executive officer of SCIB, Rosland Othman said its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative was aimed at creating public awareness of the importance of blood donation and addressing the blood shortage at SGH.

“We had successfully jointly organised a blood replenishment campaign with the SGH blood bank during the last Malaysia Day and were able to see the positive impact it had on the local community.

“Therefore, we decided to continue with this CSR initiative to replenish the blood supply at SGH amid the COVID-19 pandemic which has caused a shortage of supply,” he said.

The programme was held at the Department of Transfusion Service and Blood Bank, SGH today where the first 100 donors were given free goodie bags sponsored by SCIB.
