KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 29 -- Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), through Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), will offer a Data Science Professional Certification programme, to increase the marketability of graduates and those who have lost their jobs or been made redundant due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
TNB said that the initiative is an additional step taken in supporting the National Recovery Plan (PPN), by providing employment opportunities and skills training programmes to reduce unemployment and help in the country's economic recovery.
“This goal has already been implemented through the TNB Reskilling Malaysia and TNB Protege programmes,” said the statement.
The Data Science Professional Certification programme will be offered through UNITEN's Institute of Informatics and Computing in Energy (IICE).
Together with the university's academic and industry partners. UNITEN, a wholly-owned subsidiary of TNB, has produced 35,403 graduates since 1998 and the marketability rate of its graduates in 2020 is 93 per cent, with 8.3 per cent of them becoming entrepreneurs.
