GEORGE TOWN, May 18 (Bernama) -- Penang FC, who are currently stuck at the bottom of the Super League, are hoping that their supporters will not lose faith in them and continue to give solid support to the Panthers.
Assistant coach, Manzoor Azwira, said that their Super League match against Sabah FC at their home turf the City Stadium here last night saw an improvement in the performance of his players but it was not good enough to secure a victory to boost the spirit of the team.
“We did the best we could and managed to create space, but we couldn’t score early in the game.
"The situation was different for Sabah because they managed to score from the opportunities they created and this put pressure on us," he told reporters after the match.
Manzoor said that he would focus on improving the team in the future.
Meanwhile, Sabah FC head coach, Datuk Ong Kim Swee, said their 4-2 victory against the hosts was beyond expectations.
"This shows the players are at the right level, especially in terms of mental strength," he said.
After last night's result, Sabah FC are level on points with Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) at the top of the Super League table.
