RANHILL UTILITIES BHD, through wholly owned subsidiary Ranhill Water Technologies Sdn Bhd (RWT), has secured a RM6.1 million contract for upgrading the industrial effluent treatment plant at MSM Sugar Refinery (Johor) Sdn Bhd.

The company said the contract is expected to be completed within 12 months from June 1, 2022.

“This upgrading works are to cater for current demand of the existing plant and additional chemical oxygen demand load in ensuring the treated effluent at final discharge complies with the Environmental Quality Act (EQA1974) Standard A,” it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.

The contract, secured through a competitive tender exercise conducted by MSM, is a testament to RWT's capabilities and track record in the industrial wastewater industry, Ranhill said.

KYM HOLDINGS BHD’s (KYM) shareholders today approved the proposal to sell a piece of leasehold land in Ulu Langat, Selangor, measuring 36,430 square metres -- including the factory building and warehouse on it -- to paper product manufacturer Far East Packaging Ind (Melaka) Sdn Bhd (FEPSB) for RM22.97 million.

In a statement today, the industrial paper packaging product maker said its unit Anabatic Sdn Bhd currently receives a monthly income of RM44,000 by renting the property out to FEPSB for its day-to-day operations.

KYM has proposed to utilise the proceeds, among others, for repayment of borrowings (RM3.5 million), working capital (RM15.77 million), and capital expenditure, including for factory extension and purchase of new machinery (RM2.3 million).

YINSON HOLDINGS BHD, together with project partner Sumitomo Corporation, has officially named its newest offshore asset “FPSO Anna Nery” at a naming ceremony held concurrently in Jiangsu, China, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

In a statement today, Yinson said the vessel is currently undergoing final conversion works and will set sail for Brazil in the third quarter of the year, where it will be deployed at the Marlim Field located in the eastern part of the Campos Basin, about 150 kilometres offshore Rio de Janeiro.

“The asset will be stopping for a few days in Singapore and Mauritius for crew change and fresh supplies,” it said. 

Yinson Production chief executive officer Flemming Gronnegaard said the milestone provides confidence that the group has the ability to continue delivering responsible solutions to meet the world’s increasing energy demands, even in challenging circumstances.

RAMSSOL GROUP BHD and its partner Elmu Education Group Sdn Bhd will be rolling out a corporate liability awareness and training for all higher education institutions (HEIs) under the Ministry of Higher Education.

In a statement today, the human capital management solutions and technology provider said Elmu Education has received a letter from the Malaysia Anti-Corruption Academy to endorse its corporate liability awareness programme for public and private HEIs.

The programme will be tentatively executed by the end of August, subject to the approval of all relevant authorities.
