SHAH ALAM, July 31 (Bernama) -- The Gold League introduced by the Malaysian Electronic Sports Federation (MESF) that will begin next month is an initiative to enhance e-sports in the country.

MESF president Datuk Ananth S Nathan, the man behind the league, said that it would also create an e-sports ecosystem capable of unearthing new talent that will represent Malaysia in the future.

“We want to create a continuous pathway and for all the national players, to ensure athletes always can continue to compete in e-sports,” he told reporters after the league’s launch here today.

The inaugural league will feature four games, Mobile Legends, PUBG Mobile, Valorant and FIFA Online 4, and will have two seasons yearly, with the first season deciding whether participants will be in the Pro-League or Division One for the other season.

“This will encourage individuals and teams to train consistently and hone their skills to be the best and represent their country,” he said, adding that registrations will be open for 30 days beginning tomorrow for grassroots communities, experienced players and e-sports professionals at www.mesf.gg.
