'Learn From Home' YTL programme benefits students in rural areas, universities

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 11 (Bernama) -- The 'Learn From Home' programme launched by YTL Communications Sdn Bhd (YES) in 2020 during the Movement Control Order (MCO) allows students, especially from rural areas and universities, to undergo Teaching and Learning at Home (PdPR) sessions.

YES business director Shahirul Amran said this is because the programme helped overcome the main problem faced by students, especially the B40 group and those in rural areas, who lack devices at home and Internet coverage.

"I believe that most of the rural areas do not have broadband service coverage. For example, only 2G network is available, where (while) the minimum YES network covers the 4G network throughout the service and not for 2G or 3G network coverage," he said on the ‘Internet and You: 'Learning from Home' programme broadcast by Bernama TV.

Shahirul said that with the 4G YES network available on the university campus, students also have other alternatives for Wi-Fi services.

Apart from the 'Learn From Home' initiative, he said YTL has also launched the Yes "5G For All" campaign with postpaid offerings of Yes Infinite and Yes Infinite+ which provides high data speeds up to 20 times faster than 4G - from prices starting as low as RM58 per month.

"This is the company's commitment to providing affordable 5G services and solutions for Malaysians to have access to the network anytime, anywhere," he said.
