KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 18 (Bernama) -- National archer Mohd Juwaidi Mazuki continued to shine in Konya, Turkiye when he came out tops in the men's individual compound event at the Islamic Solidarity Games 2021 today.
He claimed the gold medal after defeating Iran's Mohammadsaleh Palizban 148-137 in the final.
Turkiye's Haney Emircan settled for bronze.
"Alhamdulillah, two gold medals this time although I only targeted the individual event, so it's a bonus to get (two) golds. I'm extremely satisfied and proud,” he said in a video clip shared via the WhatsApp application.
Yesterday, Mohd Juwaidi combined with Eugene Loh and Alang Ariff Aqil Muhammad Ghazalli to down the Indonesian trio of Deki Adika Hastian, Hendika Pratama Putra and Prima Wisnu Wardhana, 229-228 for the gold medal in the men's team compound event.
The fifth edition of the Games, which began on Aug 9, ends today.
